Camelot | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Exactly what we were promised: ornate, visually beautiful, romantic and staged as the most lavish production in the history of the Hollywood musical. If that's what you like, you'll like it. Rated: 4/4 Nov 16, 2018 Full Review Camelot | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Robert Kotlowitz Harper's Magazine This Camelot could be moved into Disneyland, intact. Aug 4, 2020 Full Review Camelot | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Penelope Houston The Spectator To take all three hours, one probably needs a fairly tireless addiction to knights, toy castles, rapt pauses and battlefield farewells. Nov 16, 2018 Full Review Camelot | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Tim Brayton Alternate Ending The film that essentially killed off Old Hollywood by virtue of being such a bad box-office flop. Rated: 2/5 Sep 7, 2017 Full Review Camelot | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Sean Axmaker Seanax.com ... considered a classic by many and a disaster by others. I'm in that other camp. May 19, 2012 Full Review Camelot | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Matt Brunson Creative Loafing Often so misguided that it threatens to become a spoof worthy of Monty Python or Mel Brooks -- when Arthur hisses, "I demand a man's vengeance!" he sounds exactly like Cloris Leachman bleating, "Death to King Louis!" in History of the World: Part I. Alec B A good song or two can't cover for the fact that the movie eventually becomes boring and tedious. I think the problem is that they reduce Arthurian legend to a love triangle. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review Audience Member Richard Harris is solid, but others, including Vanessa Redgrave, are miscast, Movie way too long, and there are only 3 well known songs, The inappropriate 1960's hippe love vibe and hair styles, really detract and date this movie, Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Jelisije J A musical where the singing is secondary to the terrific story and the meaning to what truly is Camelot. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Jeez . . . snoozer! Needed to be half as long. Richard Harris is good. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member It looks odd as a movie & as a musical , its way to long , its badly cast , maybe Richard Burton should have taken the lead role with Julie Andrews , but the blame for being such dreary movie lays with the Director & Production of the film Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Though it's slowed down by too many songs and a couple songs that go on too long, this is a romantically lavish production that tells a thoughtful, humorous, idealistic, but also heart-breaking story. Harris and Redgrave give outstanding performances. Some of the songs will sing in your heart long afterwards. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
